  Sassonero is home to the oldest castle of the area, which was first mentioned in 979.
  The local church is dedicated to San Michele; it was restored in 1833 and the bell tower was built in 1796.
  Torretta is a 1200 house-tower which is located in Sassonero; it has very interesting fired brick windows with arches.
