The abbey has very old origins and is located in the village of Badia, about 10km from Calderino, about 240mt above sea level. This building should feature in any itinerary of the Benedictine abbeys of the province of Bologna. The Medieval abbey includes a series of buildings: a tower, a church, a monastery and cloister; it lies on a road that used to link Tolè with Bologna in the past. The building now belongs to a private owner but it is worth seeing from the outside because of its striking Romanic architecture. The abbey and its annexed building were probably built in the XII - XIII century and then restored in the XV century.
