Just outside the village lies the ancient parish named after the saints Procolo and Giovanni Battista; in the past the church was also called "Succida". It is first mentioned around 1020, but it is possibly much older (perhaps V-VI century); it was a very important religious centre, ruling over a number of other churches in valleys of the rivers Limentre, Reno, Rio Maggiore and Silla, some of which became part of the diocese of Pistoia in 1784. The current building was rebuilt over the XIX century and houses a canvas depicting the patron saints and a nice XVIII century ‘Via Crucis’. The interior has a nave on each side of the main aisle, supported by arches and barrel vaults. The church holds an urn with the bones of the martyr San Felice; these were found in the XVIII century in Roman catacombs and were then donated to the church. -
