The Romanic church has one aisle and was built around the X-XII century. It is made of sandstone, with the apse facing east; the building is in good preservation order and features a sloping roof, a barrel vaults ceiling and three small single lancet windows. This is the only church is the area with frescos: it features XV century frescos depicting the ‘Madonna della Cintura’ (a unique case in the area, since this Madonna is venerated only in the town of Prato, in Tuscany) and a circular portrait of Dante. Worth of mention is also the beautiful Renaissance (1500) glass window ascribed to Lorenzo Costa, depicting Jesus adored by two angels, with the dove of the Holy Spirit above. The bell tower rises between a chapel and the apse and probably dates back to the XVII century. Details of the roof and of the ceiling are probably Gothic, perhaps and of the XIV century -beginning of the XV century. -
