Borgo La Scola is a small and very well preserved village nearby Vimignano; its isolated location has contributed to the preservation of its original features. Its oldest traces probably date back to the VI century, but written documents date back to 1385.
La Scòla includes a series of XV and XVI century fortified houses, which are linked to each other by arches. The style of some of these buildings is quite refined.
On the eastern entrance to the village lies the niche of San Rocco, which was built in the XV century to celebrate the crucifix. The central Palazzo Parisi has a Tuscan style and bears the inscription "Ostium non hostium MDCX/XXVIII" on the door (‘door not for the enemies’); the door still has the original slits to monitor visitors. Not far from the palace lies the tower, with frescos and chiselled stone details. Worth of mention is the XVII century oratory of San Pietro and the XVIII century sundial.
