Getting here: From Lizzano drive along the main road toward Porretta Terme for about 3km, then turn right for Panigale; the mill is 300mt after the turn.
The mill is located between Panigale di Sotto and Panigale di Sopra (today the area is generally known as Panigale) and features the original structure and portico. The mill grinded wheat for several years, until it was transformed into a mill for lime; the flour mill was then transferred into a nearby building which still works perfectly. This second flour mill is housed in a building called “casa dei Tintori”, from the profession of the owners who dyed textiles for several decades; they processed and dyed textiles from the area but also from the plains. The fulling mill was operated by a large wheel and textiles were dyed with local products and with dyeing products from Prato. -
