  The area of Granaglione is renown for its chestnut trees, whose fruits are used to produce sweet flour. The voluntary consortium of chestnut producers of Granaglione operates with the aim of fostering the appreciation of local chestnuts, which are excellent from the nutritional point of view, thanks to their moderate protein content, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. Chestnuts are suitable for children, adults and elders; it is important to cook them well, because of the sugar content, which is a great supply of energy and is easy to digest.
