Monteveglio

  • Monteveglio Monteveglio is located in the valley of the river Samoggia. Its territory features a medieval village and the important abbey of Monteveglio, which was built before the year 1000; the abbey was the property of Matilde di Canossa and around this area some historically relevant battles took place during the Middle Ages. There are several other historical buildings to visit: the XV century house of a Hebrew and the church of San Paolo in the village of Oliveto, the regional nature park of the abbey of Monteveglio and the church of Sant'Andrea in Cornegliano in the village of Montebudello.
