Savigno
-
The territory of the municipality of Savigno occupies the whole upper valley of the river Samoggia. This area has lovely landscapes of mountains, hills, valleys, pastures, woods and badlands. The economy of the area is still strictly connected to old traditions: woodcutting, horse breeding and truffle picking. Indeed, truffles are the most important and typical local products; their particular variety is called 'Bianco pregiato dei colli bolognesi' and has won Savigno national recognition as 'town of the truffle'. Besides gastronomy, there are also old churches, oratories and mills full of history.
