Bazzano
-
Bazzano is located on the border between the provinces of Bologna and Modena (in ancient times, the brook Muzza used to mark the boundary). Its territory is crossed by the river Samoggia and has about 6,000 inhabitants within an area of 14 square kilometres. The landmark of Bazzano's town center is the Renaissance stronghold of the Bentivoglio, which stands on a hill and hosts several cultural events and venues, like the music center and the archaeological museum Museo Civico Archeologico A. Crespellani. Trade and service industry are important economic resources of the area. With its five centuries long tradition, the Saturday market is particularly well known and enlivens the central square Piazza Garibaldi and the main streets of the town center.
