Marzabotto
-
Marzabotto is in the heart of the Bolognese Apennines and has a very ancient historical heritage. Indeed, in its territory are the remains of an Etruscan town called Misa, which dates back to the VI and V centuries B.C.; the local archaeological museum (Museo Archeologico Pompeo Aria) preserves a wide collection of findings from the Etruscan sites. In recent history, Marzabotto sadly became well known for the Nazi-Fascist massacre inflicted on the local population in the autumn of 1944.
