Labante è una frazione di Castel D'Aiano.
Labante is a village within the municipality of Castel D'Aiano and it is located in the valley of the Avena.
In Labante there are two nice XVII century churches, one dedicated to Santa Maria and one to San Cristoforo, and they both belong to the parish of San Giovanni in Pitigliano.
In the Middle Ages the village was property of the lords of Roffeno, which were vassals of Matilde of Canossa such as many noble families of the Frignano area.
In the XIII century, the municipality of Bologna seized their feuds and in 1244 also all the properties and rights of Azzo di Roffeno.
In the area there are several interesting historical buildings, such as the tower of Ribecco (a fortress, probably part of a castle already existing in 1130), the XVII century house Ca' di Mingoia, the so called Abbadia (a building which had a tower and a church dedicated to Santo Stefano, but is now destroyed); despite the name, in Abbadia there was never an abbey and the name might come from the possessions of another monastery of because the priest of Santo Stefano had received the honorary title of abbot. -
