The church lies in a lovely secluded location; it is named after the Madonna Assunta and the village takes its name from the church. The church is first mentioned around 1300 and was declared parish in 1411; it was widened 1679 and completely rebuilt in 1949 following the destruction caused by the war. The interior has a main aisle with chapels on the sides; it houses some precious XVI and XVII century canvases, such as the Madonna Assunta with the Saints Sebastiano and Rocco (the main altarpiece) and the Madonna of the rosary with the saints Domenico and Francesco from Assisi (in the right chapel).
